Hosted by the Youth Justice Network of Toronto (YJNT), the Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN-ROEJ) in collaboration with the Community Crisis Response Program (CCRP) is pleased to offer Know Where We Stand 2.0: Navigating City Spaces

This free workshop offers youth workers, frontline service providers, and those who support youth residents an opportunity to meet and connect with legal professionals, safety advisors, police officers and community advocates, the opportunity to broaden their knowledge about the legal issues that arise from agent of the landlord agreements (AOL) between property owners and law enforcement in Toronto.   

Key features of this workshop include scenario-based activities, information sharing and break out sessions that explore the following:  

  • Agent of Landlord agreements
  • Dealing with a trespass offence
  • Anti-social behaviour and evictions
  • Street Checks (Carding)
  • Legal Impact of filming on private property. 
  • Navigating community legal supports and more!

Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN)

Established in 2002, OJEN is a non-profit organization that promotes public understanding, of the justice system.  Over 200,000 youth, province-wide, are impacted by its justice education programs and resources annually. OJEN supports teachers by developing law-related curriculum-linked resources for a variety of elementary and high-school courses and provides them free for download from its website in English and French.  It also develops school-based programs for students and professional development opportunities for teachers. OJEN partners with community organizations to deliver tailored justice education programs for youth outside the traditional school system and facilitates dialogue between youth and justice sector professionals. For more information visit, www.ojen.ca.
