DISCIPLINE
SLALOM
- Average 40-50 second course.
- Offers more gates, more turns, (and for many) more fun than the other disciplines.
- Speeds are slower but there is definitely more happening with more turns to be made between the start and the finish.
- Results: Best Time Format.
- One Run or Two Runs. (Up to the racer)
- The course will not be reset between runs.
GS (GIANT SLALOM)
- Average 50-60 second course
- Offers moderate spacing between the gates.
- The most appealing style of racing for those who have never done it before - and still really fun for those who have.
- Results: Best Time Format.
- One Run or Two Runs. (Up to the racer).
- The course will not reset between runs.
SUPER G
- Average 50-60 second course
- Offers moderate spacing between the gates.
- The most appealing style of racing for those who have never done it before - and still really fun for those who have.
- Results: Best Time Format.
- One Run or Two Runs. (Up to the racer)
- The course will not be reset between runs.
The main difference between Slalom, GS and Super G is the course layout (how 'turn-y' the course is, based on how far apart the gates are). Slalom is the "tightest" and the gates get further apart and the speeds increase in a GS and even more so in a Super G.
