Description

All undergraduate and graduate studies students are invited to attend the K+ S Potash Canada Engineering Student Etiquette Evening on January 16th in ENG 1B79 from 5:30-6:30 PM.

K + S Potash Canada recruiters and the Canadian Senior Human Resource Manager, Maryann Deutscher, will be joining to give engineering students insight into what industry really wants to know from students like you! We hope this event will help calm any pre-event jitters and best prep everyone to make the best of their networking during the C.J. Mackenzie Gala of Engineering Excellence on January 23, 2018.

During the one-hour event, we will be serving drinks and a few snacks and be chatting about:

  • The Professional vs. The Floppy Fish – what makes a good handshake and why it’s important
  • On the Hunt – I’m trying to find a job (summer or after graduation), how to a present myself? Can I ask if they are hiring?
  • Forks, Forks and a little spoon – what the heck is this little fork for above my plate? Why so many glasses? It’s a what?
  • OMG I’ve never met these people, what do I say – It’s okay, everyone has been new to networking, let us give you a few tips to make things easier and a few insider secrets
  • What Not to Wear –Engineering Edition – a snap shot of what are good things to wear to get yourself recognized – and in the right way!
  • More insider tips of the trade – attending the etiquette evening last year? Don’t worry – come again, we’re making sure content is new and fresh

This event is free and students are encouraged to register early as spots are limited and previous years has been standing room only!
