Description

On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of Korea's Liberation Day and in celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto and the Korean Cultural Centre in Ottawa are pleased to host a spectacular performance by the Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 7 PM.


* IMPORTANT NOTICE *

Thank you for your overwhelming interest in Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration in Toronto. With 2 weeks to go, most released tickets are already sold out. As more tickets become available, additional tickets will be released. Please reserve tickets in the correct category within the maximum allowed per person (2 tickets) or your tickets may be cancelled, in which case you will need to re-reserve tickets before tickets sell out. Please do not reserve tickets in excess of need in order for others to have a chance to enjoy the event.


WHO IS KUKKIWON?

The Kukkiwon as the World Taekwondo Headquarters has vitalized Taekwondo in the form of the leading martial art by globalizing it since its foundation in 1972. The Kukkiwon Demonstration Team is a civil diplomatic corps, the team has been conducting demonstration tours around 10 countries every year in order to introduce and spread Taekwondo and the Korean culture worldwide. The demonstrations performed abroad and in welcoming important people visiting Korea are superior diplomatic activities in themselves. Such performances enhance
Taekwondo’s global appeal and the value of Korean culture.

Street level entrance to John Bassett Theatre is next to Second Cup and across from CBC on Front St just east of John St. Please note that the theatre is located in the North Building of Metro Toronto Convention Centre.


SEATING

This is a free event and seating is first come first served. Please arrive by 6:45 pm for registration and to be seated before the performance begins at 7 pm.


On the day of the event, your Eventbrite reservation(s) will be your ticket for entrance. Our event staff and volunteers will scan the barcode(s) on your Eventbrite reservation(s). Please print all tickets with barcodes or display your Eventbrite reservations with barcodes on your smart device. Please arrive by 6:45 pm for registration and to be seated before the performance begins at 7 pm. You are advised to arrive earlier as seating is first come first served.


ACCESSIBILITY

The theatre is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair seating is available on the Orchestra Level behind row T, with space on either side to accommodate up to 2 wheelchairs. Row T seat 2, Row T seat 43 and Row H seat 3 have an outer armrest that lifts up to allow wheelchair attendees to transfer from their wheelchair into the seat. If you or your guest(s) require wheelchair seating, please e-mail torontomofa@gmail.com by Tuesday, August 1st so we can best accommodate.


TICKET TYPE

All tickets are free but you must select and reserve tickets in the correct category or your ticket(s) may be cancelled.


  • The general public should select and reserve "General Admission (Public)".
  • If you are a member of (or received an invitation from) Korea Taekwondo Association of Canada, please select "Korea Taekwondo Association of Canada".
  • If you received an invitation from Korea Tourism Organization, please select "Korea Tourism Organization".
  • A small number of tickets have also been reserved for Consul General and his guests. Please do not select this ticket type unless you received a personal invitation from the Consul General.


If you have ordered the wrong ticket type by mistake, please kindly cancel your order and reserve the correct ticket(s). If you have ordered tickets but you or member(s) of your party are no longer able to attend, please kindly cancel or adjust your orders so that we can have an accurate attendant list and make spaces available to others.

No. This demonstration is family and children friendly.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Your Eventbrite ticket is the actual ticket for entrance to the event. You can either bring printed tickets with a barcode or display electronic tickets on your mobile device. You must reserve and bring enough tickets for all members in your party. Once scanned, tickets do not permit re-entry unless you leave a note with event staff at the registration table. (Washrooms are located inside the venue and guests do not require re-entry.)

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

If you have reserved tickets but are no longer able to attend but someone else would like to attend, please cancel your reservation and advice them to reserve tickets under their name. Each ticket permits one entry. Once scanned, a ticket cannot be reused for multiple guests.
