Ladies-in-Waiting, a Little Black Dress Theatre Production
Event Information
Description
Are you a history buff? Do you love the high drama of shows like the Tudors? Seduction, betrayal, beheadings... the wives of King Henry VIII have a few things they'd like to set straight, on Friday, May 10th, 2013 at First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto.
Get ready for an evening of entertainment, beginning with a musical exploration of the uglier side of love and relationships, followed by the original play, Ladies-in-Waiting.
Ladies-in-Waiting brings together several generations of women to explore aging, power, regrets, hindsight, and the pain of unrequited love. As Henry VIII lies dying, his six wives convene to throw his welcome to the afterlife party.
Co-written and directed by First Unitarian's very own Kate Kudelka, (NOW Magazine's "emerging artist to watch") Ladies-in-Waiting will stimulate your brain, tug at your heartstrings, and give you something interesting to talk about! After years of development and its debut at Toronto Fringe Festival last summer, Ladies-in-Waiting is coming as a fundraiser for First Unitarian.
There will also be a "cupcake fair" and a cash bar. Help support First Unitarian and buy your tickets now!
