Trent Valley Archives is again offering its Ladies of the Lake tour at Little Lake Cemetery concentrating on the 20th Century. Sunday, May 15th at 1:30 pm will see knowledgeable tour guide Madison More lead participants through Little Lake Cemetery stopping at various tombstones to relate significant stories.
The tour will feature profiles of notable women such as Alma Finnie, World War I nursing sister who became the first woman to vote in Canada, Agnes Campbell Neill, a nurse in World War II, who became the Matron-In -Chief of the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, and Iva Campbell Fallis who served as the 2nd woman in the Canadian Senate.
Other lesser known but equally important women who served this community in various ways will also be featured.
If you are looking for an event to celebrate a special occasion or you just want to learn more about Peterborough’s amazing past, this is the tour for you. We take the safety of our attendees and volunteer guides very seriously by adhering to appropriate physical distancing throughout the tour. While everyone is welcome, we encourage you to enjoy the tours with members of your circle. This tour runs rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
