The Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) started operations in the summer of 2016 with exclusive intake of certain strata corporation matters. Since that time, the CRT has rapidly expanded its jurisdiction to include small claims matters, motor vehicle accidents, co-operatives, societies and roommate disputes – and they are probably not done! Join housing lawyer Grant Haddock who will share his CRT experiences over the last 4 years, learn how landlords might find themselves in the CRT and what to expect if that happens.
Presenter: Grant Haddock was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1992 and is the principal of Haddock & Company, Lawyers. Grant’s core areas of practice are residential and commercial tenancy co-operative housing law, strata property law, residential and commercial tenancy, human rights, privacy and construction law. Grant has acted for numerous housing providers and construction companies, appearing for them at all levels of court and at various tribunals. Grant has been a course leader and frequent speaker at educational conferences sponsored by industry leaders.
