In the afternoon we will head to Black Brook area.  You will learn how to take wide angle and panoramic photo shots. On Friday evening, there will be a slideshow of photographers photos and a multi -screen sight and sound presentation of 10 years of Hike the Highlands Festival .  The workshop is limited to 20 participants. The cost of the workshop is $75.00

Thursday, Sept 12th  - Evening Program  7-9 pm.

MANAGING DIGITAL IMAGES: Explores various tips and tricks on importing, organizing, editing, storing, retrieving and protecting (backing up) valuable digital images using the most popular image management software including Aperture, Lightroom and Photoshop Elements.
If you’re stymied on whether to shoot RAW or JPEG images; how to get them into your computer; how to edit them for better quality; and how to store and identify them for easy retrieval, then this session is for you.
Wally has been using Apple’s Aperture for over five years to maintain his catalogue of over 200,000 digital images and will be assisted during the evening by Tom Wilson who is using both Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Elements in his day to day work.

Friday, Sept. 13 - Field Work Day,    6:00 am. - 4 :00 pm.

LANDSCAPE & SEASCAPES-  How to effectively capture natural vistas with emphasis on using wide angle lenses and panoramic techniques. A wide angle lens is almost a necessity for this type of photography, but now, in this digital age, even a telephoto lens can be used to capture high resolution, wide angle images by shooting multiple photos and stitching them together with readily available and inexpensive software.

The wide angle lens was Wally’s ‘standard’ lens for landscape photography over the last 25 years as a photographer for Nova Scotia Tourism, but in the last few years he has used telephoto lenses and ‘stitching’ software to create many outstanding panoramic photographic images with much higher quality and wider angles that can be achieved by even the best wide angle lenses.
