The participant will make a 5" x 7" landscape using 10 or more pieces of fabric. The composition will be one’s own design inspired by a photo, a painting, environment and/or imagination. The piece will be completed, matted and ready for framing at the end of the day. Fabric, threads, tools and matting will be available on site. It is pieced by hand sewing, but you may use your sewing machine with invisible thread if that is your choice.
Participants are asked to bring fabric scissors and a thimble along with your LUNCH.
Margie began quilting in 1984 with classes sponsored by Inverness County Recreation. Over the years, she completed workshops with many internationally known quilting instructors and she also took art education courses at NSCAD and in London, England. Her quilts are found in local homes as well as across Canada, and in USA and Europe. Margie has taught classes in traditional quilt-making, modern designs and techniques, and landscapes in fabric.
