About this event

Crescent Heights community members will work alongside amazing local puppet artists to build their own globe-shaped lantern! Join us to learn some basic lantern puppet building techniques and create your very own completed, beautiful work of art. Participants are also invited to come and show off their lanterns in celebration of the Spring Equinox on Saturday, March 20 at 7:45pm on McHugh Bluff in Crescent Heights*. This workshop will be delivered via Zoom and all materials required for the construction of the lanterns will be dropped off via contactless delivery to your door in advance. Suitable for all ages including younger children with parental support.

Please note that this is workshop is for people who live or work in Crescent Heights and have a Crescent Heights membership (free/by donation) - if you don't have a membership, please apply at http://crescentheightsyyc.ca/membership-form/

*Workshop participants are invited to share their lanterns in a lantern puppet processional lead by Blackfoot drummers and Indigenous knowledge sharing around renewal and regrowth to welcome the return on Spring on the eve of the Equinox from the beautiful McHugh Bluff in Crescent Heights overlooking Mohkinstsis.
