About this event
LaserLab 101
The laser cutter is a versatile tool that can cut, etch, and engrave a wide variety of materials including wood, cardboard, paper, leather, and even acrylic. In this orientation, you will learn the basics of how a laser cutter works, and how to prepare a digital design for cutting. You will use RetinaEngrave software to control the laser cutter, and you will have the chance to create and cut a small design of your own! Although it's not a requirement, it is strongly recommended that students have some knowledge of 2D vector design or CAD (computer-aided design) software for this class.
