Event description

Description

Join the comedy duo, Bowser and Blue, for an introduction to political and social satire in music. Rick Blue and George Bowser have been joining their forces to entertain Canadians since 1978. They will discuss their art and entertainment, while performing songs and comedy bits from their repertoire. Don't miss a concert, workshop, and opportunity to discuss comedy in music with the duo former Prime Minister Paul Martin once called ''his favorite band.''

About the hosts

George Bowser and Rick Blue write and perform music and comedy. Their Musical, ‘Last Night at the Gayety,’ ran for six weeks at Montreal’s Centaur Theatre in the spring of 2016.

They appear in theatres and concert halls across Canada, and from 2007 until 2016 they were featured in the Canadian Snowbird Extravaganza concert series, both in Canada and in the United States.

They have appeared frequently at the Just for Laughs comedy festival, most recently in the 2008 edition, and they can often be seen on CBC television and the Comedy Channel in shows compiled from those appearances. Their Christmas CTV special "Two Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire" was nominated for a Gemini award. In 2003 they collaborated with cartoonist Terry Mosher to produce "The Illustrated Canadian Songbook", published with a companion CD.
