The health and safety of our staff, performers, patrons, and entire community remain our top priority. Due to the unprecedented pandemic of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are postponing or cancelling all events scheduled at the Algonquin Commons Theatre until Thursday, April 30th, 2020.

The "Laugh Out Proud" - LGBTQ event scheduled at the Algonquin Commons Theatre for Wednesday, March 25th, 2020 has been cancelled. All tickets will be fully refunded from your original point of purchase.

For show specific details please refer to our website (AlgonquinSA.com/ACT) which will be updated regularly.

Tickets purchased online through Eventbrite will be refunded using your original payment method. Please allow 5-7 business days for the funds to appear in your account.

Tickets purchased in person at the Algonquin Commons Theatre Box Office (via any payment method) will be refunded in person at the Box Office in cash. Please note that due to the recent COVID-19, the Box Office will be closed until further notice. An update will be sent out to ticket holders via email regarding when refunds will be available for pick-up. You will be required to bring your (original ticket purchaser) valid photo ID and the ticket(s) with you, as you will need both in order for the refund to be processed.

Celebrating Canada's immense talent from the LGBTQ community we are presenting some of the best comics from across Canada. Emcee'd by Ottawa resident Jesse Reynolds a Canadian actor, host and stand-up comedian who is best known for hosting 'JUMP! Mornings with Jesse and Jenna' from 2015-2018 and then launching ‘Jesse & Jenna’s Messy Podcast’ which debuted at #1 on the Apple Canada Podcasting chart.Ashley Cooper - Nominated for Best Newcomer Comic at the I Heart Joke Awards, Ashley Cooper is a trans comic from Ontario. She has opened for Sasheer Zamata (SNL), shared the stage with Las Culturistas, and was named a Rising Star at the Brantford Comedy Festival. Ted Morris - Born in Ottawa and now making his home in Toronto, Ted discovered his love of stand-up while getting his degree in veterinary medicine. His TV appearances include two stand-up specials for Pridevision TV (as both a performer and producer), The Toronto Show, The Comedy Network's Canadian Comedy Shorts, MuchMoreMusic's Heat Meter, The Smart Woman's Survival Guide and The Halifax Comedy Festival on CBC. Ted's hour-long Comedy Now! stand-up special on The Comedy Network (Canada). Bibi Bilodeau is a multi-talented freelance producer based in Iqaluit, Nunavut. She is an openly queer and openly autistic writer, comedian and youth activist. Bibi is known for her song parodies, celebrity impersonations, and sugary-sweet but suuuuuper dirty humour! She has performed with Elvira Kurt, Derek Seguin, Mike McDonald, the El-Salomons, Deanne Smith, Chanty Marostica & Adrienne Fish. She’s now a regular performer at the Arctic Comedy Festival, Crack Up’s Hilary for Charity, Yuk Yuk’s, Toronto’s Comedy Bar and produces a variety of Iqaluit-based shows, including Arctic Glow: Ladies Lube Wrestling. Adrienne Fish - With a huge afro, Adrienne Fish has been making her mark on Canada’s comedy scene. Based out of Toronto, Adrienne has recorded four nationally aired TV tapings, including her most recent taping for Comedy Central at Just For Laughs. She's appeared on CBC's comedy show The Debaters, and was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award, and

Headliner Kyle Brownrigg is an undeniable presence in Canadian comedy. In June 2019 he was named 'Best Breakout Artist' at the Canadian Comedy Awards becoming the first gay male to have been awarded for a stand-up related category. Originally from Ottawa, Kyle now makes his home in Toronto where he is a local and touring comic with Yuk Yuk’s. He was a finalist in SiriusXM's Top Comic competition - the search for Canada's next top comic, one of JFL42's New Faces, and was selected as one of Canada’s Homegrown Comics for Just For Laughs.

Located in the West End of Ottawa, the Algonquin Commons Theatre (ACT) is a beautiful dynamic 700 seat (capacity increases to 835 when the floor level seats are removed) auditorium that hosts an array of events and rentals.
