Hosted by the Canadian Civil Liberties Education Trust (CCLET) and the Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN), the Law and Social Justice Education Conference is a professional development opportunity for Ontario elementary teachers to participate in presentations and discussion on topics in law and social justice that enhance classroom teaching and learning. Session topics include:
Fulfilling the Truth and Reconciliation Committee's (TRC) Calls to Action;
Strategies for engaging students in critical thinking for social justice from JK - Gr. 8;
Elementary civil mock trial programming;
Planning a courthouse visit for your class
Space is limited! Register by July 1st for a special early bird rate of $35! (Registration fee will increase to $40 after July 1).
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The venue is a short 7 minute walk from Dundas Subway Station. Directions can be found here: https://goo.gl/maps/6RQ6fxbTMnE2.
There are two parking lots in close proximity to the venue. The closest option is available underneath the building at 240 Jarvis Street (opposite entrance to building). The rate is $16.39 for a full day pass. The second option is located at 160 Mutual Street, which is just across the street from the venue. The rate is $14 from 7:00am - 6:00pm.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Registrations will not be refunded after the registration deadline of July 14, 2016, however registrant substitution will be permitted.
