Leadership and Professionalism in Research

Date and Time: May 8, 2019, 12-1 p.m.

Building and managing a strong team and fruitful collaborations are fundamental to the success of any research program. Leadership and professionalism is not something you can “read in a book” but is paramount to both these endeavours. This session will discuss issues related to mentoring, setting and managing expectations, skills development, and strategies to build and maintain collaborations across academic and non-academic settings. Dr. Robin Urquhart is an Assistant Professor and Ramia Scientist in the Department of Surgery, with crossappointments in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology and Division of Medical Education. She is also a Senior Scientist with the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute and an Affiliate Scientist at NSHA.
