Most leaders and organizations focus on change. Nothing wrong with that, but it is not enough. Change is about doing things differently. Doing what we do now but doing it in a more, efficient, productive or quality-enhancing way.
With all the challenges facing organizations and society today, we need a complete shift in leadership. We need transformation. Transformation involves change at the deepest levels of beliefs, values and assumptions. It results in fundamental shifts in personal and corporate behaviors and organizational systems and structure. Transformation occurs when we are able to learn from our mistakes, are open to a new future and can let go of the past.
The consciousness of an organization is a direct reflection of the consciousness of the leaders. To be authentic and meaningful, the transformation of an organization needs to start with the transformation of the leaders.
