Keynote Presenter
Dr. Nicole Forrester is an Olympian, 8-Time Canadian Champion, Commonwealth Games Gold and Bronze medalist, and a Pan American Games Silver and Bronze medalist. She is an assistant professor at Ryerson University, specializing in sport psychology and high performance. She is also a registered consultant with the Canadian Sport Psychology Association.
Dr. Forrester will speak about The Olympic Mindset: The Business of Performance. Ever wondered how world-class athletes are able to excel consistently? Success in business and sport share many similarities when it comes to achieving excellence. This presentation will explore how you can raise the bar and provide you with tools in developing an Olympic mindset.
Dr. Forrester’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, and an opportunity for a 1:1 conversation.
Educational Keynote Presenter
Dr. Simon Taggar. Professor of Management, Wilfrid Laurier University, BSc, MBA, PhD.
Simon is Professor of Management in the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University. Dr. Taggar researches leadership, creativity and strategic human resources management.
In both business and sports, there are numerous examples of teams that are full of superstars, yet fail to deliver in terms of performance. Dr. Taggar discusses his research on high performing teams and the role of team leadership.

- CWB Group is a non profit regulatory body overseeing the welding sector in Canada. They provide certification, education and consulting services to companies and ensure the quality and safety of welding in manufacturing and construction and has their head office in Milton.
- Michelle is the Senior Vice President of Operations responsible for the Certification business lines, as well as the programs and services of Industry Support and Engagement.
Jessica Buckley, President, Woodbine Mohawk Park
- Jessica has the good fortune to help grow and promote standardbred racing in Ontario while creating an entertainment destination for the region.
- Woodbine Mohawk Park, operated by Woodbine Entertainment Group, world-class racetrack located in Milton, showcasing the very best in Standardbred horse racing.
Matt Cavalieri, MBA, P.Eng. Plant Manager, LVDA at Eaton
- Matt joined Eaton in 2010 as part of the Leadership Development Program (LDP) and has held a number of Operations & Engineering Leadership roles within the Milton Low-Voltage Distribution Assemblies (LVDA) operation. In June 2018 Matt officially became the youngest Plant Manager in LVDA history!
- Joining Matt is Dixon Lee, Product Manager, Residential, Retail & Light Commercial, who joined Eaton in 2008 and leveraging his unparalleled passion, quickly advanced through the ranks of the Canadian Marketing organization.
Lisa Macneil, Divisional President of Ontario, Gordon Food Service
- From the beginning, Lisa’s career has spanned across three major corporate acquisitions. Her diversified professional experience has taken her through many key positions within the organization, ultimately leading to her current role as the President of the Ontario. Within this role Lisa oversee's all aspects of the Division from Operations to Sales, Marketing, HR & Finance.

Track level at the new Mattamy National Cycling Centre, providing a unique view of Olympic calibre athetics' practice runs. This velodrome is one of only two internationlly ranked velodromes in North America.

Steve Fleck, Leading Professional Endurance Sports Race and Event Announcer, and Live Stream Commentator
Each year Steve can be found on the microphone at over 35 running, cycling and triathlon races / events throughout North America. He’s an in-demand Commentator in the fast-growing Live Streaming Sports, OTT webcasting business, for running, and cycling races, working closely with both Athletics Canada and Cycling Canada in this area. Steve has been involved in running, triathlon and cycling in one way or another since his mid-teens, including an Ironman competitor, as a participant / competitor and in business.
About this Event
This event is brought to you by the Town of Milton and the Milton Education Village Innovation Centre and produced by Silicon Halton.
This event takes place on the floor of Velodrome, the only track of it’s kind in Canada. The backdrop is a twenty-five-foot high, 180° bend of the race track, with National-level athletes practicing. A unique experience in a truly unique venue – Canada’s only Class 1 track.
Try the Track
Following the seminar you are invited for a second unique experience – Try the Track. Ride the velodrome, an exhilarating chance to experience the thrill of 42 degrees around 250 metres of Canada’s only Class 1 track.
Whether your last ride was last night or last decade, our gentle progression will get everyone on the track and grinning ear to ear by the end of the experience.
- 1.5 hours of track time with National-level athletes (scheduling permitting)
- Use of track bikes and change rooms
- Cycling Centre swag
