Event description

Description

Leading in the age of digital health care is a one-day workshop to help current and emerging leaders in the health-care sector guide their institutions into the age of digital health care.

This workshop includes hands-on activities, team tasks and large-group discussions, and is open to all professionals in the health-care sector.

Why attend?

Digital technologies are creating unprecedented changes in health care. The rise of big data, coupled with rapid advances in technology spaces such as artificial intelligence and machine learning are challenging the way we work, tackle problems and care for patients. Professionals in all areas of the health-care sector need to enhance their skills to lead their institutions during this disruptive time.

Leadership in the digital age requires more than technical expertise or discipline-specific skills. Professionals in all areas of the health-care sector must be able to quickly adapt and innovate in increasingly complex environments.

This workshop will introduce you to the concepts, mindsets and strategies you need to stay ahead of the exponential curve.

What will participants learn?

Whether you are a nurse, physician, health-care executive or IT specialist, you know you need the knowledge and capabilities to assist your institution as it adopts new health technologies and transitions to an increasingly digital future.

This workshop has been developed by MaRS Studio Y Fellows through extensive research; it uses experiential learning techniques to help participants prepare for a future where health-care and technology are becoming increasingly intertwined.

The workshop will be led by Jas Sunner - a senior health-care executive with over 20 years of international senior management experience, including leadership and transformation roles in the Canadian, British, Iraqi and Argentinean health systems.

A keynote presentation will be delivered by Zayna Khayat - Future Strategist, Saint Elizabeth Health Care

Our goal is to ensure you leave this workshop with the ability to:

  • Identify the emerging technology trends impacting health care and influencing institutions;

  • Discuss the challenges associated with adopting emerging technology in health care;

  • Examine and evaluate case studies where emerging technology is being used in health care;

  • Generate potential solutions to increase the rate of adoption of emerging technologies within health-care institutions.
