Event description

Description

The Nova Scotia College of Social Workers is incredibly proud to partner with the Nova Scotia branch of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives on the development of a Social Policy Framework.

The Social Policy Framework is being introduced at a critical time in Nova Scotia as we have continued to see our governments, at all levels, implement policies and programs that have resulted in greater inequity. This workshop will introduce the Social Policy Framework as a tool for transformational change and will engage participants in dialogue in order to:

  • Identify the impact of inequity on our current systems
  • Examine policy principles in order to develop policies that address the public good
  • Develop policy ideas that create a vision and pathway for long lasting change.

A light lunch will be provided.

Presenters

Alec Stratford, Executive Director/Registrar of the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers

Christine Saulnier, Nova Scotia Director of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives

Dr. Tammy Findlay, Research Associate of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives
