Description

Please join us for LEAF Ottawa's Persons Day Breakfast 2019 on October 25. This year's focus is on women and climate change, including sustainability and environmental law.

We are pleased to have Senator Rosa Galvez as our keynote speaker. A Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Senator Galvez is one of Canada's leading experts in pollution and its effect on human health. Her experience includes advising organizations on the protection of the Great Lakes and the completion of an important study on the catastrophic oil spill at Lac-Mégantic.

Joining Senator Galvez are Professor Nathalie Chalifour and Anna McIntosh. Professor Chalifour is co-director of the Centre for Environmental Law and Global Sustainability. Ms McIntosh is a lawyer and member of Ecojustice's Healthy Communities team.

Doors open at 8am, formal programming to begin at 8:30am. This event is fully accessible.

Please note that all money raised during this event is in support of LEAF National whose mission is to advance the substantive equality rights of women and girls in Canada through litigation, law reform and public education using the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. If you are unable to attend the event but still interested in donating you can do so by selecting the donation option under tickets.
