Description

REGISTER BY AUGUST 31ST FOR EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION!

This workshop will start the conversation about how job and career opportunities are shaped by learning from, and among, leaders. New professionals can learn from seasoned managers and these managers can gain knowledge and understanding from engaging with new professionals. This intergenerational learning will help new professionals and seasoned managers pursue career opportunities, and at the same time, improve the resilience of the organization.

In reality, most organizations lose valuable knowledge and experience when seasoned professionals leave their careers. Many organizations struggle with this problem and their efforts to implement effective succession planning and processes for knowledge transfer are unsuccessful. This workshop will introduce this concept of learning from and with leaders at all levels.

From a practical perspective, you will hear what works and what does not. You will hear from, and have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with, seasoned professionals and new professionals about the challenges and opportunities related to transferring knowledge, both to maintain resilient organizations and develop emerging leaders.

Keynote speakers, moderators and panelists include:

  • Garrick Bradshaw, Principal Consultant, GMB Management Consulting
  • Teara Fraser, CEO/Owner, Raven Institute
  • Filip Jaworski, Graduate Candidate, SFU School of Public Policy
  • Paul Mochrie, Deputy City Manager, City of Vancouver
