Event description
Learn how Canada’s economic immigration programs can be used to support your company’s hiring needs and help drive economic growth.

About this Event

Can’t find enough qualified workers locally?

Internationally trained workers and newcomers might be the answer!

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada offers a full range of temporary work permit and permanent residence programs to support a strong Canadian economy.

In this information session, federal representatives will explain how Canada’s immigration programs can support your hiring needs:

• learn about programs/resources to help you attract, hire, and retain skilled foreign workers;

• ask questions and get answers from the experts;

• network with other employers; and

• share your ideas on how immigration can support workforce development in your community.Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has both temporary and permanent options to facilitate access to global talent. Hiring internationally trained workers can help you fill gaps in your workforce, diversify the talent pool, innovate, grow and create new opportunities for Canadians.

Attract Global Talent:

  • The Global Skills Strategy features work permit exemptions for short-term workers, two-week processing for work permits, a Dedicated Service Channel for eligible companies, and a faster Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) for highly specialized or in-demand talent.
  • Family benefits: spouses of skilled workers may apply for Open Work Permits, and accompanying children can qualify for study permits, so the whole family can come to Canada together.

Retain Global Talent:

  • Express Entry offers permanent immigration pathways and relatively fast processing for skilled foreign workers and tradespeople. Access to permanent residence in Canada can be a recruitment incentive, allowing companies to retain top talent.

Start-Up Visa Program:

  • Do you have an innovative business idea? The Start-Up Visa Program provides permanent residence to foreign entrepreneurs who have the skills to build innovative businesses in Canada that can complete on a global scale.

Come to this workshop and learn more from an IRCC representative about how Canada's economic immigration programs can work for you!
