"Appetite and satiety neurohormonal signals – why we can’t stop eating"
Dr. Sean Wharton, MD, FRCPC, PharmD (General Internal Medicine; Bariatric Medicine)
Dr. Wharton has his doctorate in Pharmacy and Medicine. He is the medical director of the Wharton Medical Clinic, a community based internal medicine weight management clinic. He also works as an internist at Toronto East General Hospital, and the Hamilton Health Sciences. Dr. Wharton is a researcher, and is qualified as a diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. There are only a handful of physicians with this qualification in Canada. Dr. Wharton’s research focuses on bariatric medicine and type 2 diabetes. He is the lead author of the weight management section of the Canadian Diabetes Guidelines.
This event will offer a lecture from an internationally recognized obesity researcher and physician, and an opportunity to network with fellow students and new professionals at UofT over complimentary lunch!
