Overview

Join us for a day of storytelling and mystery as we uncover the legends of the Great Greenock Swamp, during the 1800 logging days.

Welcome to the Legends of the Great Swamp event!

Join us on Saturday, June 21, at 2:00 PM at the Bradley School House (Bradley Community Center - Google Maps) for a day filled with adventure, fun, legends, and lore!

Get ready to explore the mysteries of the great swamp, and hear stories of fabled creatures, shadowy green lights, and stories of lost souls.

Whether you're a seasoned explorer or just looking for a fun day out, this event will tickle the senses as you learn about the incredible hardships of those who logged the swamp in the late 1800s and the amazing adversities they endured!

Learn about the famous lumber baron of Bruce County, Mr. Henry Cargill, and about the hamlet that carries his name.

This tour will feature beer tasting, visits to heritage buildings (including one of the oldest homes in Cargill, built by the Cargill empire for Henry's son W.D. in the 1800s), and local actors who help to bring the historical characters to life! Bus transportation is also included (during the tour). The event concludes with a full-course Bruce County church supper with all the trimmings.

Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the magic of the great swamp. This tour starts at the historic Immaculate Conception Church in Chepstow. See you there!
