Event description

Description

The Selfling Teen Support Foundation is calling on all LEGO aficionados - and folks that just like to have a good time - to compete in the first LEGOS & LAGERS fundraiser. The Selfling Teen Support Foundation will be hosting 25 teams of 2 in a competition to build their best, most unique LEGO roadster.

Doors are open for LEGOS & LAGERS 2017 at 6 pm with some mingling for 30 minutes. At 6:30 pm there will be an introduction with the customary thank yous and any necessary announcement and housekeeping. We will then go over the rules of LEGOS & LAGERS 2017 with the model building beginning around 6:40-6:45 pm.

The building will go till 8:30 pm at the latest (we will wrap up earlier if all teams are done building) at which point each team's roadster will first be judged on design, and then on distance, as they rocket down the Selfling Speed Ramp to victory.

We have wheels of all sizes (along with thousands of pieces of LEGO), each set requiring a very particular build to drive the furthest - and fastest - down the ramp. Each team needs to also consider the appearance of their roadster as marks for their design will be added on top of their distance points to make their overall competition total.

The winning team's prize is as yet to be determined (Yay non-profit world!), but we can promise you it will be fantastic.

Tickets to LEGOS & LAGERS 2017 are $40 each and include 1 drink ticket, 1 appie, 1 entry to the competition, and one door prize ticket.

Door prizes will be on display at the event where extra tickets can be purchased to increase your chances of taking home more prizes!

If you want to follow along with us and show off to your friends at home, use the hashtag #legosnlagers2017 on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You can bring a printed ticket or a digital ticket saved to your mobile device.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

You can transfer your ticket if you choose. Maybe the ticket you bought was a gift.

What does the Selfling Teen Support Foundation do with the funds from my ticket(s).

Proceeds from the sale of admission and raffle tickets will be going to pay for volunteer training in the Selfling Teen Support Foundation's Sensei program.

The Selfling Sensei program is enlisting volunteers to moderate the Selfling Teen Support App. Each Sensei volunteer will require training and certification in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and Mental Health First Aid for Adults who Engage with Youth. This program is vital to keeping teens safe on the Selfling network as we continue to spread awareness of the Selfling Teen Support App as an important tool to help increase access for teens to vital support agencies in their community.
