Lesbian Liberation Across Media
Event Information
About this event
This screening will feature A Working Women’s Collective (1974), Labyris Rising (1980), and Proud Lives: Christine Bearchell (2007).
Introduced by Raegan Swanson (ArQuives), the screening will be followed by a discussion led by Rachel E. Beattie (University of Toronto Media Commons Archives), Mathieu Aubin (Concordia University), and Felicity Tayler (University of Ottawa).
The screening will take place on June 10th from 8:30 pm EST to 10:00 pm EST on Zoom. This event is free, but if you’d like to include a donation, we have provided an option to pay what you can.
All proceeds will be donated to Supporting Our Youth Toronto (SOY) and their Black Queer Youth and Trans Crew, and the 519's Trans People of Colour Project. We have found alternate source of funds to cover the screening costs.
This screening is brought to you by the Labo de données en sciences humaines/The Humanities Data Lab, The Spoken Web, the Lesbian and Gay Liberation in Canada Project, University of Toronto Media Commons Archives, and the ArQuives, with especial thanks to Spoken Web -- this event is a collaboration on part II of their Lesbian Liberation Across Media listening session. You do not have to have attended part I to enjoy this screening.
