About this Event

This is a chance to dialogue with Jangtse Choeje, second in line to the Gaden Tripa – supreme head of the Gelugpa order of Tibetan Buddhism, about Buddhist methods to help with distress, depression, and other mental health issues and learn techniques to achieve greater resiliency and happiness.

Born in 1948 in Tibet, His Eminence Jangtse Choeje is the fifth Gosok Rinpoche, recognized as the emanation of several of the most distinguished spiritual masters of Tibetan Buddhism. At the age of seven Gosok Rinpoche started his religious training at the Lhasa Sera Med monastery. At eleven, Rinpoche continued his studies at Sera Monastery in India, earning the highest degree in Buddhist philosophy, the Geshe degree. Following this, Rinpoche perfected his training at the Gyumed Tantric College, becoming an expert of the Tantric teachings. Gosok Rinpoche served as the abbot of Gyumed Tantric Monastery and later, Sera Monastery, one of the three most influential monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism. In August 2017, he was appointed the Jangtse Choje, second-in-line to the Gaden Tripa – Supreme Head of the Gelugpa Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Known for his immense capacity for loving-kindness, compassion, and wisdom, Gosok Rinpoche has given teachings and initiations across Europe, North America, Asia and Africa.
