Enjoy an evening of devotional self love and creative expression. Dance to express and enjoy every cell in your body, release tension, expand, nurture, and flow to divine melodies, rhythmic beats and electronic genres. The dance is an opportunity to experience and celebrate the love and magnificence of all that you are! This is an evening to grow in love with all aspects of yourself and the divine. Let love guide and lead the way. It is an honouring of love in all its forms, love for yourself, your loved ones, love for community and love for the divine. Find connection and dance your heart out while collectively sending ample amounts of love out into the universe.

Engaging in freeform movement heightens your body’s awareness and sensations. Your thinking mind becomes quiet, which allows you to let go of what you think you “should” look like and instead you can drop into your heart and body. In this place you are able to receive your innate wisdom, intuition and guidance. When you fully open your heart, free yourself from your mind and come into your body, you can connect to spirit and your soul. This is a place where magic happens. 

Ember Ecstatic Dance fosters and supports you on your own personal journey. Every part of your human experience is welcome and encouraged to be expressed. Honouring and expressing our emotions allows us to curiously explore all aspects of ourself.

Cost of the event: $15-$25 sliding scale 'I am love' tickets.

Ticket purchases honour the energy and time spent creating and organizing each event and allows for the continuation of these sacred community events. Financial assistance can be provided. No one will be turned away from attending the event. This dance will occur on zoom. After you purchase a ticket on Eventbrite, I will send the link to you. It will also be shared on JusDance Kingston FB and Ember Ecstatic Dance FB one hour before the event begins (5:30PM).

The event will begin at 6:30PM. You are invited to arrive at 6:15PM to become acquainted with the online space, say hello to fellow dancers and engage in any self stretches or self-guided meditation practice. We will gather at 6:30PM for introductions and an explanation of the ecstatic dance guidelines. You will then be lead through a gentle 30 minute self-love yoga warm up, a Loving Kindness meditation, and intention setting. Mallory Lecours (DJ Ember) will lead you through a 1.5 hour carefully curated ecstatic dance. The evening will close with a closing meditation and closing circle. Please feel free to bring any sacred items of inspiration (roses, candles, crystals, sage) for your altar at home for the duration of your dance.

The evening schedule:

6:30PM: Introductions & Ecstatic Dance guidelines for safety and awareness

6:45PM: A 30 minute guided self-love yoga practice to creatively and intuitively warm up our bodies

7:15PM -A Loving Kindness Meditation- please feel free to invite a hot beverage of your choice for the meditation (hot tea, hot chocolate, or hot cacao).

7:30PM: A free form 1.5hour Let Love Lead Ember Ecstatic Dance

9:00PM: A closing meditation & gratitude circle

Mallory Lecours is the founder and creator of Ember Ecstatic Dance. She is a Certified Ecstatic Dance Facilitator, 200hour Yoga Instructor, Groove Dance Facilitator and Reiki Level 1 and Level 2 Practitioner. Mallory began practicing yoga 10 years ago and found ecstatic dance 3 and a half years ago. These practices gave her a space to find healing, community connection and creative self expression. Her kind hearted nature, passion and enthusiasm allow her to lovingly hold space for you to experience your own personal and collective embodied dance journey.

A Few Ecstatic Dance Guidelines:

All bodies and ages are welcome to attend a dance. There are a few agreements we must follow to ensure everyone feels safe and welcome.

* Ecstatic Dance is a freeform dance- feel free to dance any way you please

* Please whisper and honour the space by no talking on the dance floor or at the Altar

* No consumption of alcohol or drugs. We invite you to reach your own natural state of ecstasy

* Dance barefoot- No street shoes on the dance floor (unless a health condition prevents this)

* Respect Boundaries- No pictures, video or wearing of scents

* Enjoy the Journey- If you can, get out of your head and into your heart

* Respect the Space of Others and the Collective Space

* When Dancing with Others- Listen for a Yes (get eye contact first)

* Respect any No (like when they are ignoring you, put up a hand)

* Respect the Solo Dancers' Right to their space (hands in prayer at heart can mean "I see you, and thank you for the dance (that just ended)”

This is a Transformational Space for Healing, Prayer and Freeform Movement.

Zoom Guidelines:

*There is an option to keep your camera on or off during the dance. This gives you the option to be seen or unseen while dancing. You can also choose to keep the video camera on and dance off camera if you like.

*For fullest sound you can listen using bluetooth earbuds or external speakers (this can make a huge difference). Although, not necessary to enjoy the dance experience.

*Be sure to name yourself if you like with your full name and click on "gallery view" to see many windows of friends

*private message a friend to "pin" each other for a dance duet
