A day away in mindful silence is a beautiful gift to yourself!
Please come to our Day of Mindfulness, six hours of guided meditation and gentle mindful body movement, surrounded by a supportive community of practitioners and in the beautiful setting of the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta.
Suggested donation is $20 per person, or pay-what-you-can for those with low or no income. Your dana (generosity) helps us cover the rental costs, plus a little something for our teachers. Please consider donating online as it helps us limit the amount of cash we have to handle at the event. _/\_
An option to donate at the door is also available, but please register through "Tickets" to reserve your spot.

Please arrive around 9:15 so we can start promptly at 9:30am. We will be spending the day together in silence – however the facilitators will be guiding the retreat, so we won’t be silent! There is a cloakroom to your right as you enter so you can leave your overcoat and shoes there. Washrooms are nearby. Someone will direct you to the meditation space we are using, which will be ready for you when you arrive, so please allow yourself in, find a spot, roll out your mat, turn off your cell phone, and relax.
Bring a cushion or bench for meditation if you have one. Some meditation cushions and yoga mats will be available for your use, and there will be chairs, also. We will be doing gentle mindful yoga, so wear loose comfortable clothing, whatever else you need to be cozy (an extra mat, extra pillows, blanket) and bring a water bottle. If you have your own yoga mat and props like a strap, bolster, etc. please feel free to bring them with you. Please refrain from bringing reading materials (and electronics) so as to keep your mindful awareness on your interior experience of arising sensations and ‘events’. You may wish to bring slippers or an extra pair of socks and a blanket as the floor in the Temple may be cool – although it’s hard to predict! Layered clothing is always a good idea. Please remember to arrive as ‘scent-free’ as possible.
Bring a simple lunch for yourself. We will eat our lunch mindfully together, in silence in the multipurpose room next to the meditation space. We have access to the kitchen, including a refrigerator and microwave.
