Let's talk about Death and Dying
Event Information
About this Event
Death and dying are a natural and important part of Life and living. But somewhere along the way, many of us have lost touch with Death, and this is interfering with our ability to deeply connect with all of Life because it includes Death.
How can we begin to tend to our relationship with Death? Talking about it can help. Join Victoria-based Death Doula Jenafor Ryane for this opportunity to speak freely and frankly about death and dying, and associated grief and sorrow.
Format:
In this 90-minute community event, you're invited to engage with the topics of death and dying through conversation. Jenafor will facilitate an opening meditation and offer a list of basic ground rules, after which each participant who wants to will have a chance to share from the heart.
Usually that's all it takes to get the conversation flowing, but if there is a lag, Jenafor will offer some "ice-breakers" such as, "where would you like to be when you die?", "what do you think makes for a good death?".
Please note this is not a bereavement group or counselling session. This is a sacred place to share from your heart and personal experience.
This event will have limited attendance to ensure that everyone who wants to share has a chance to do so.
This is a Zoom event. You will receive the Zoom meeting details upon registering.
About your host
Jenafor Ryane is a Victoria based Death Doula and Yoga Instructor.
Whether teaching Yoga and meditation, facilitating challenging conversations, supporting advance care planning, offering respite for loved ones, or comforting care for the dying, it is Jenafor’s intention to bring presence, meaning, compassion and love to the ways in which we approach life and living, and death and dying.
Death is an integral part of life. In order to embrace life fully, we must also open to life’s sacred dance with death.
It is Jenafor's honour to support you in your journey through life, including death.
