About this Event

Using Death Conversation Game, founder Angela Fama will co-facilitate this open discussion on death with her long-time friend Christa Zaganas.

Personal death is a topic often avoided in social settings. If you'd like to change that, come and join us! Whether you are new to the conversation, currently faced with death (your own or another’s), grieving a recent or long passed loss, preparing your understanding of End-of-Life decisions, wanting to expand your understandings on death, thinking about all the momental deaths that happen in a day, are just plain curious, overwhelmed by situational and/or actual deaths (globally!) with COVID, whatever brings you... please join us in conversation! The subject's discussed are guided by the cards but defined only by those who join each time as each group is so organically different!

Let’s Talk About Death is an online conversation/workshop held on Zoom. Once a ticket is purchased, the link and password to the Zoom session will be in a pop-up confirmation message, as well as a reminder email prior to the event. If you can’t find these emails, please check your spam/junk/trash folders... if you still can’t find them, please email:

Please be prepared to have your video screen on. In respect to the open nature of this conversation and the need for this online gathering to be as inclusive and human as possible, we will insist each person's video screen remain on for the duration of the conversation(s).

*All funds received are going directly into reprinting the next batch of Death Conversation Game! Home-front DIY that the Death Conversation Game is, Angela originally did a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the first batch and is now excitedly getting ready to make the next run! Super grateful for all of you who are, and were, willing to continually co-create new narratives on death with us, and on your own using the Death Conversation Game!*

Angela Fama is an interdisciplinary artist from Tennessee, Ottawa, and Zimbabwe currently living in Vancouver BC. In addition to a near-death experince over 10 years ago, Angela was inspired to discuss death more openly after she drove across North America discussing love with over 300 passersby collaborators with her What Is Love project. Through this project, love and death showed her how irrevocably intertwined they are through the shared words and experiences.

Christa Zaganas is a frontline paramedic and former mental health worker in the DTES who loves walking her dear dog, Ivy. Christa and Angela have known eachother for over twenty years, within which they've discussed death many times, one-on-one and in other group facilitations. Both have completed the End-of-Life Doula program at BC's Douglas College.

If you’d like to know more about why Angela like's to talk about death, please watch her TEDx talk: How Talking About Death Can Make You Happy.

Whether it’s a small group or large, this workshop aims to offer a safe space to personally share, in an Intersectional feminist anti-ableist environment of equally interested mutually respectful folk - all ages, class, race, and/or gender are welcome.

Let's talk about death... together!
