Let's Talk Health
Wed, April 26, 2017, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM MDT
Let's Talk Health is the next panel discussion in the Great Ideas. Great City. Speaker Series.
How do we engage planners, public health professionals, other city-builders together with citizens to address health? If cities are complex adaptive systems, how can we position Edmonton to promote and address health equity?
This event will highlight the City of Edmonton's work on the Hello, How Are You? campaign that includes two council priorities: The Council Initiative on Urban Isolation and Mental Health and the Council Initiative on Seniors.
Let’s Talk Health will be a conversation on the relationship between the built environment, other social determinants of health and their influences on us.
Our panel will include some very special guests:
Dr. Yvonne Chiu, founding member and Executive Director of Multicultural Health Brokers Cooperative
Dr. Larry Frank, Professor from the University of British Columbia's School of Community and Regional Planning
Anne Harvey, Program Manager of the City of Edmonton's Abundant Community Edmonton Initiative
The panel will be moderated by Zanette Frost, Program Manager with the City's Hello, How Are You? campaign. The City's Chief Planner, Peter Ohm will host and Councillor Scott McKeen will provide opening remarks.
Join us for light refreshments at 6:00pm. Opening remarks will start at 6:30pm, followed by the panel discussion.
