From Story to Design: Using Children’s Literature to Develop Children’s Questioning and Problem-solving Skills

This professional learning session will provide Early Years and Kindergarten to Grade 3 educators the opportunity to discover and use effective learning strategies that develop students’ questioning and problem-solving skills.

Participants will:

  • Learn and engage in a Technological Design and Problem Solving framework to formulate questions and solve problem scenarios presented through children’s literature.
  • Learn how to use science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to also support students’ literacy, communication, creativity, critical thinking and teamwork skills.
  • Meet and collaborate with colleagues and engage in meaningful discussions that support program planning in early STEM.

Onsite registration opens at 8:30. Workshop 9:00 - 3:00 EDT.
