Let's Talk Science Saturdays: Kindergarten (Going Batty)
Sat, 1 April 2017, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM EDT
Do you wish you had more opportunities to learn with your child, or do you love finding unique and fun learning opportunities for them? Would you like to get your children more interested in science? Is your child already interested in science and you want to cultivate this interest? Ever wondered what the difference is between a diurnal animal and a nocturnal animal? Ever wondered how echolocation works?
If you said “yes” to any of the above questions, come on out and join Let’s Talk Science for Science Saturday! Where we will be doing fun hands on-science for the whole family! On this particular Saturday, our activities will be aimed at a kindergarten-level (although, students up to grade 2 and pre-K would also find this activity age appropriate and interesting).
From 1:00-2:00 PM we will be having fun with our "Going Batty" activity, where children and parents will get to read a Magic School Bus book, learn about nocturnal and diurnal animals, and pretend to be bats! This is one of our newest activities and is quickly becoming a favourite among students!
Please note, parents or an adult must stay with the child for the duration of this activity, since it is a family science day after all!
Spots are limited, and tickets will be checked at the door to ensure appropriate group numbers.
We will also be offering an activity following this one, from 2:30-3:30 PM, (also at the kindergarten level), called "Butterflies and Bugs Oh My!". Please register for the second session through Eventbrite as well, if you are interested in attending both: https://scisatbugs2.eventbrite.ca
Please contact us if you have any questions & we hope to see you there!
