Event Details

Your life is full. Perhaps you’re buzzed and thriving on it all. Or maybe you're feeling a little dull, numbed out from the breakneck pace of life.

If only you had a little space to just breathe and be present — to honour the things that are going on in your life or that are tugging at your heart for attention.

We invite you to come, give thanks and practice gratitude as women in community by getting creative together. Join us as we celebrate relationships, life and all its lessons, and anything that calls out to you, in an encouraging, collaborative space.

By sharing in heart-centred conversations and creative art expression while enjoying light refreshments, you’ll have opportunity to make meaningful connections with what’s going on in your heart and life, and with others in community.

Leave feeling lighter, with a full heart and with tools that will lead you to stronger emotional, mental, and social health.

In this 3 hour workshop, you will:

  • Explore the depths and benefits of gratitude to integrate the practice into your life.
  • Explore how you can use lettering as a means of self care and expression.
  • Create your own gratitude piece as a keepsake to take home.
  • Share honest conversations and create meaningful connections with others in community.

Whether you consider yourself creative or not, beginner or seasoned — all levels of artists, non-artists, calligraphers, and curious calligraphers, are welcome! Even if you think you have bad handwriting, you are welcome here.

Please note that this time will be focused on creative exploration, which anyone can do! (If you prefer a more technical class, may be better suited for you.)

We dare you to Show up for yourself, refresh your heart, and turn on your creative spark. Treat yourself to this mini-retreat before the rush of Christmas season. Invite a friend for a creative date (makes a great gift).

WHAT TO BRING: Light refreshments and all supplies will be provided, so come as you are, with an open spirit and positive attitude to learn and make connections. If you have art supplies of your own you would like to explore with, feel free to bring them with you.

INVEST: $39.99/person early bird, $44.99 regular rate.
SIGN UP BY Sunday, Nov. 12, 11:59pm for Early Bird rate.

10% of proceeds will go to, a charity with a proven long term success in freeing women from a life of sexual exploitation in Vancouver and globally.

REFUNDS are not available, however you may defer your ticket to a future workshop, or you may transfer your ticket to a friend. If the workshop is cancelled due to not reaching the minimum number of participants required to run it, you will have a choice of defering your ticket to a future workshop, or receiving a full refund.

Justine Hwang @

Justine Hwang is a calligrapher and hand lettering artist who helps compassionate souls to tap into their creativity as a powerful form of self care and personal development so they can serve and impact the world from a full heart.

After burning out from a life of saying yes to everything that pulled at her heart strings, she revisted her childhood love of calligraphy and discovered its therapeutic nature in her recovery.

She is passionate about hosting workshops that provide a collaborative and relaxed space for people to show up for themselves, to experience the peace and flow of calligraphy, and to create meaningful connections with their own heart and with others, and with a greater purpose in giving back to the community.

She brings 20 years of experience facilitating workshops, designing and creating curriculum, and coaching non-profit leaders in spiritual growth and community development.

You’ll often find her having deep heart conversations over coffee with friends, binging on a pint of ice cream, or indulging her latest ideas for creative projects into the wee hours of the night.
