This presentation will highlight several trends that drive analytics-based approach to audit risk. It will also be covering key points of why we leverage data management and analytics techniques. If time permits, various demos will be presented to provide a visual understanding of how data analytics can be used to assist an organization in exploring the hidden relationships within their data that leads to insights which ignite more accurate and reliable answers on their own data.
About the Speaker:
Basel Abou Laban has a university degree in Business Technology from Cape Breton University, Canada, majoring in Information Systems. Basel is a Senior Associate, in the Risk Assurance Services Group of the Audit and Assurance department of the PwC’s Ottawa office, servicing clients in a wide variety of sectors by offering audit and data management support. Throughout his career, Basel has implemented a variety of Computer Assisted Audit Techniques analyses on various projects. His knowledge of different audit software and data mining helped him to be able to work on numerous public and private clients such as oil & gas, utilities, energy, municipal government and governmental health services. Basel has over 5 years of data and audit support experience, including inventory, purchases, payable and payments, and payroll analysis. Through Basel’s work at PwC, he was involved in multiple ISACA events and he is currently working on his CISA certificate.
