Did you know that impact investing is a powerful tool that actively seeks to create positive and sustainable social, economic, or environmental impact in addition to financial gain?

This type of investment provides capital to tackle issues such as renewable energy or accessible basic services including housing, healthcare, and education.

Come join us to hear Bill Young deliver the keynote address on impact investing. Bill is the founder and president of Social Capital Partners, located in Toronto. He will be sharing the journey of SCP's from a social enterprise, to using impact investing and today, trying to make system level changes.

We will also have Kate Ruff, co-director of the Carleton Centre for Community Innovation at Carleton University. Kate will share how organizations measure their impacts on society and some of the challenges involved .

Our keynote sessions will provide you with essential information on impact investing while the breakout sessions will focus on local content. Plus a Q&A with Bill & Kate!

Impact Hub Ottawa

Join Impact Hub and special presenter Kate Ruff to gain an introduction to the United Nations Sustainable Development goals, their value, how you can integrate them into your organization and utilize them to measure your impact.

New Market Funds

Find out how they define impact investing, who they invest with and what outcomes they are generating in terms of social impact. Session suitable for both potential investors and to those who may want to access impact funds for their organizations.

Ottawa Community Foundation

Their strategy allows them to seek out investments that provide both a financial return and a social or environmental benefit. It allows them to go far beyond the traditional grant-making role by helping charitable and non-profit organizations access loans, guarantees and mortgages.

Vancity Community Investment Bank

Come explore the opportunities for values-driven banking to play a meaningful role in driving impact in the Ottawa region. This session will introduce their model as a new resource for the Ottawa community, and provide an opportunity to discuss the markets needs and opportunities for dedicated social finance institutions.

Canadian Alternative Investment Foundation

They provide registered charities with access to low cost capital for projects of social benefit who are unable to obtain financing from conventional sources.
