Description

Leveraging your Experiences: Record Keeping for Farming Success

Every experience on a farm is valuable - there is a lot that can be gleaned from both successes and failures. In this participant guided session we will explore the tools and techniques used to create data collection systems and learn to analyze them to harness these learning opportunities. Starting a record keeping system now, at the start of the season, will give participants the ability to work with a season’s worth of data when planning for next year.

Workshop attendees will walk away empowered with the key tools to build effective record keeping resources for their farms. More importantly, the workshop will highlight how record keeping can fit painlessly into daily and seasonal workflow. Anyone farming/gardening who does not yet have an effective way to record, track and/or analyze their data will find some benefit from this session. Experience with Excel or any spreadsheet software will be helpful, as we will not cover basis spreadsheet operations (e.g. SUM, arithmetic, spreadsheet language) in this workshop. Participants may find bringing a laptop beneficial to work through spreadsheet creation during the workshop.

A light breakfast will be provided.
