Description

On Wednesday September 25th between 1-4PM at Inglewood Campus, there will be a LGBTQ2S+ resource fair presented by the Skipping Stone Foundation (SSF). Amelia, a local transwoman and advocate, is the co-founder and will be present to share her story and answer direct questions. Various staff from SSF will be present to allow the opportunity for attendees to have the opportunity to discuss a variety of topics on a more individual basis, including Johnathan Kuipers MSW to answer those tougher clinical inquiries.

SSF is a Calgary-based not-for-profit organization, and registered charity, whose mission is to support and empower trans and gender diverse youth and their families in the province of Alberta. Providing low-barrier access to mental health support and medical transition related services; Workshops, scholarships, skill building opportunities and peer support to help youth and their families empower themselves; And regular community building events where the strengths and uniqueness found within the diversity of gender identities is recognized and celebrated and meaningful connections formed.

Please join us anytime between 1PM to 4PM to speak directly with SSF as they answer your questions and speak on topics such as:

-medical transitions

-children and youth and hormone suppressors

-family connections and support strategies

-affirming clothing/attire for trans bodies

-bodies, dysphoria and support strategies
