Description

Earn continuing education credits! Attend our educational lunch and evening panel discussion!

With the need to reduce the energy impact and resource consumption of our buildings, the design and construction processes are becoming more complex. Increasing energy codes requirements, industry specific environmental schemes, and advances in building materials and technologies all play a critical role in the overall performance of buildings.

Sustainability Lunch & Learn with H2 EcoDesign

11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

Panel Discussion and Networking Social with Building Science and Sustainability Experts from RDH, BSC and H2 EcoDesign

5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Sustainability Lunch & Learn with H2 EcoDesign - 1 CEU LU/HSW

11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

Join Holley Henderson as she discusses regional initiatives in sustainability for high performance buildings including green building practices LEED, WELL and mindful MATERIALS. This course correlates health, safety and welfare with the latest trends including transparency and resiliency.

This one hour presentation will provide 1 continuing education learning unit and will review the following learning objectives:

  1. Relate health, safety and welfare commitments to current sustainability trends.
  2. Analyze each commitment and trend related to smart building design including regional context.
  3. Discover best practices and tools related to high performance buildings that accomplish both goals.
  4. How to translate these findings into your next building or personal project.

Agenda:

Registration and Lunch 11:30 AM
Presentation 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

Panel Discussion & Networking Social with Building Science and Sustainability Experts from RDH, BSC and H2 EcoDesign - 1 CEU LU/HSW

5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Learning from industry experts John Straube, Christy Cronin and Holley Henderson, this panel discussion will focus on providing insight into techniques that can be used to create buildings that are fire safe, durable and energy efficient. It will delve into the do’s and don’ts of high performance buildings based on science and experience for local climatic regions and highlight the building enclosure’s interaction with other building systems.

This one hour panel discussion will provide 1 continuing education learning unit and participants in this course will be able to:

  1. Understand the broad impact of buildings on the environment and key strategies to reduce that impact.
  2. Identify key strategies for designing fire safe, durable and energy efficient buildings.
  3. Understand the building science-informed approach to the design and construction of high performance building enclosures.
  4. Learn about the interactions between the different systems within a building.

Agenda:

Registration 5:00 PM
Panel Discussion 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Networking 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
