About this event
This January 21, 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of Lincoln M. Alexander's birth.
Born in 1922 to immigrant parents, the Honourable Lincoln Alexander served our country as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, a lawyer, a public servant, and a leader.
Mr. Alexander was the first Black person to be elected to Canada's House of Commons, to serve as a federal Cabinet Minister, and to be appointed as Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, where he played a key role in promoting diversity, championing education, and advancing youth leadership. For his contributions, Mr. Alexander was appointed to the Order of Ontario and became a Companion to the Order of Canada in 1992.
To mark this important milestone, the Lincoln Alexander School of Law is hosting a special celebration on January 21, 2022. We will pay tribute to our namesake, showcase artistic performances, make a special gift announcement, and more!
