Moderated by Omar Masood, the panel comprised of Aditya Dutta, Esmahan Razavi and Rheanna Houston will discuss the following topic - Starting Up: Creating a Movement

Your Panelists

Rheanna Houston is a Calgarian born creative and connecter. She is the founder and director of People Are Pearls, an arts organization that exists to inspire affirm excellence and authenticity through the arts of story creativity and experience. One of the ways that they currently do this is by curating highly interactive and intimate events that spotlight Creatives and foster connection.


Esmahan Razavi is a mediator who specializes in civil, corporate and family disputes. Esmahan has volunteered with multiple organizations including the Elizabeth Fry Society of Calgary and the Business and Professional Women’s Association of Canada where she serves as the national Chairperson for Women in Politics. She also engages in pro-bono mediations of neighbourhood disputes for Community Mediation Calgary Society. Esmahan has co-founded two organizations in Calgary, including Ask Her, a multi-partisan non-profit organization with a mission to increase the participation of women in municipal politics through engagement and capacity building. She served as president until October of 2015 with a focus on establishing Ask Her’s credibility and reach.


Aditya Dutta is a seasoned entrepreneur who has led and helped start-ups in fashion, real estate & hospitality industry. Raised in an entrepreneurial family and being an engineering graduate of McGill University, Aditya loves innovation and is now following his childhood passion of revolutionizing the hospitality industry in Calgary, Alberta. A Management Consultant by trade, he worked at Monitor Deloitte for more than three years in the Business Strategy and Transformation team. He has built core business strategies for large-cap companies and delivered operational improvements of more than $400 Million. Besides entrepreneurship, Aditya has a passion for traveling, food, wine and career mentorship.


Chelsea Briggs is currently a Team Lead for TransCanada Corporation working in the Supply Chain Programs Management group. She manages a team of data analysts that are responsible for maintaining thousands of enterprise records for all vendor, material and service suppliers to all lines of business within TransCanada. Her team provides spend analytic reporting and supply chain performance reporting to gas, liquids, and power business units in all three countries that TransCanada operates in: Canada, US and Mexico. Highly driven by SOX requirements, she supports internal and external auditing requirements to minimize risk with fraudulent vendors, and act as a secondary control for external payments.

Chelsea holds a double degree from the University of Calgary in Business Management and Law & Society, and was an active member on campus participating in varsity soccer and as an executive member of a women’s fraternity. Chelsea is multilingual, speaking English, fluent French and an intermediate level of Spanish. In addition to being on the board of YPE, she volunteers for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) and the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

While not working, Chelsea is an outdoor enthusiast and spends most of her weekends skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer.


Your Moderator:

Omar Masood moved to Canada, on his own, as a teenager, and completed his chemical engineering degree at McGill University in Montreal, QC. Upon graduation, he moved to Alberta to work for an industrial technology company where he developed and commissioned plant safety technology for the energy, manufacturing, and utility sectors in Canada, the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.

After implementing a successful Operational Excellence program for Shell, Omar was hired by a large Canadian pipeline company where he has most recently served as a Project Manager, developing facilities projects for their Canadian natural gas business.

Omar is the nominated candidate for the Alberta Party in the downtown riding of Calgary Buffalo. The Alberta Party is a centrist party that believes in celebrating and building upon the achievements of the social progressive movement. The Alberta Party also believes that the finances of our province should be balanced and sustainable so that we can properly fund the services that we rely upon while actively encouraging a strong private sector.
