Event description
We invite you to think differently about the concept of heritage, linking stories, and how best to support heritage in your community.

About this Event

Co-hosted by the Cowichan Valley Museum & Archives and Economic Development Cowichan (CVRD), in cooperation with Heritage BC, Cowichan Tribes and the BC Museums Association, A Warm Land Heritage Workshop provides representatives of local governments and heritage organizations with new ways of defining heritage - from Indigenous culture to intangible heritage to the more familiar model of our built environment - and how today’s visitor preferences play a role in contemporary storytelling.

This event features presentations with a wide variety of speakers, including provincial and municipal heritage planners, First Nations representatives and tourism industry advisors. An agenda of the program is available here.

Tea/coffee/muffins will be served at 8 am. Lunch will be served at noon and is complimentary for registered attendees.

Space is limited to 70 attendees and we expect the event to sell out so we recommend you to book your space early to avoid disappointment!
