Event description

Description

No Strings Theatre proudly presents Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women as the culminating public
performance of its inaugural Youth Drama Intensive, a pilot 10-session program for young actors
aged 14 to 21 wanting to expand their acting craft. Alcott’s classic 1863 novel, cherished
worldwide, has been given a new incarnation in the form of a play adapted and directed by
NST’s Associate Artistic Director Patrick Maubert.
In Maubert’s adaptation, the line is ever-more blurred between reality and fiction in the uncanny
relationship between Alcott and her protagonist, Jo March. Little Women is a simple yet
powerful telling of life’s balance between strength in sadness to appreciate the lightness of bliss
embodied by the 4 March sisters and led by the matriarch Marmee. A coming-of- age tale
exploring themes of family, loss, strength and the discovering One’s self.
Join NST and the cast of Little Women as they pull on your heartstrings in this beautiful retelling
of a holiday classic; as relevant and as powerful today as it was in 1862.
