THIS REGISTRATION IS TO RECEIVE THE LIVE STREAM LINK FOR THE FOLLOWING PRESENTATION:

The Arrowsmith Program is pleased to host a Research Presentation on Feb 21st, 2019 in New York City. This is a unique opportunity for Dr. Greg Rose from Southern Illinois University, and Drs. Lara Boyd and Rachel Weber, both from University of British Columbia, to present the findings of their work regarding the Arrowsmith Program. All three of these leading academics are currently undertaking research projects into various aspects of the Arrowsmith Program and its outcomes. This event will provide an opportunity for these researchers to provide information on the results of their work, as well as a focus on:

  • Behaviour relationships in children with learning disabilities Dr Lara Boyd

  • Benefits of Arrowsmith Training on Brain Connectivity and Neuropsychological Measures Dr Greg Rose

  • Neurocognitive and Behavioural Outcomes of the Arrowsmith Program – Dr Rachel Weber

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Dr. Gregory Rose
Gregory M. Rose (Ph.D. in Psychology, University of California at Irvine, 1980) is a Professor with appointments in the Departments of Anatomy and Physiology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. His research area is Neuroscience, where he has long focused on understanding mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, learning, and age-related memory impairments. He has over 125 refereed publications in scientific journals as well as numerous invited book chapters, and over the years has received millions of dollars from national funding agencies to support his scientific studies. https://nrc.siu.edu/members/rose.php

Dr. Lara Boyd
Dr. Lara Boyd is a Neuroscientist and Physical Therapist at the University of British Columbia. She is a professor and has held a Canada Research Chair, received a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Career Scientist award and been a Peter Wall Scholar. Dr. Boyd directs the Brain Behaviour Lab at the University of British Columbia. Her work is centered on answering the question of what limits, and what facilitates, stroke recovery. Dr. Boyd also serves as the Health Research Advisor to the Vice President for Research and is the university’s delegate to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. https://languagesciences.ubc.ca/people/faculty/lara-boyd

Dr. Rachel Weber
Dr. Rachel Weber is a tenure-track Instructor in the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia, where she directs the BC School and Applied Child Psychology Predoctoral Internship Program and the PRTC Neuropsychological Assessment Clinic. Dr. Weber is a leader in the training of school and applied child psychologists in BC at the Master’s and doctoral level. Dr. Weber’s research interests pertain broadly to culturally and neuro-diverse populations, including children and youth who are multilingual, who experience learning challenges, who have sustained concussion, and who have survived pediatric cancer. She is currently working on projects that examine the outcomes of cognitive intervention, evaluate neurocognitive function in students with visual impairments, and observe the benefits of participation in opera training.
