Livestream: April 10, 8pm
Mocean Dance presents petites danses, a riveting collection of short stories in motion that dig deep into the heart of human relationships. Created by multi-faceted, multi-award-winning choreographer, Marie-Josée Chartier (Montréal/Toronto), petites danses has been presented in several Canadian cities and reimagined at each location. Mocean’s depiction will be performed by a novel ensemble of seven dancers and four actors drawn from Halifax’s dance and theatre communities. The cast will bring their distinctive interpretation to four pieces from the petites danses collection. One new piece will be created specifically for five of Mocean’s most experienced dancers. Join us for an evening of compelling contemporary dance and experience the exhilaration of live performance!
Featuring: Roland Chun Shing Au, Gillian Seaward-Boone, Susanne Chui, Nathaniel Dooks, Mairéad Filgate, Henricus Gielis, Sebastien Labelle, Matthew Lumley, Julie Robert, Anastasia Wiebe, Lydia Zimmer
Note: One piece contains nudity

Mocean Dance creates, collaborates, and performs in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral home and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. We have gratitude for this land, and respect and appreciation for its many generations of caretakers. As an organization, we commit to learning what it means to be Treaty People who move forward together in peace and friendship.
