Panel is moderated by Nicole Stamp

JEREMY GARELICK

Through impactful storytelling, creative integrity and commercial appeal, Jeremy Garelick has become an industry leader, creating some of the most successful comedies ever.

Jeremy started in the mailroom at the Creative Artists Agency, before going on to work as assistant to legendary writer/director, Joel Schumacher on Tigerland, Bad Company, Phone Booth, and Veronica Guerin.

Jeremy made his feature screenplay debut with the Vince Vaughn vehicle The Break-Up and followed that by teaming up with Todd Phillips to pen the production draft of The Hangover, establishing himself as the go-to A-list comedy writer in Hollywood. In 2015 Jeremy directed his first feature film, The Wedding Ringer starring Kevin Hart and Josh Gad.

The last year has been a busy one for Jeremy. Between writing, directing, and show running his Netflix original limited series, Best. Worst. Weekend. Ever., and executive producing his YouTube Red original, Side Swiped, Jeremy also formed his own production company, American High. Staked with a $45 million film fund, American High has shot five indie comedies in Garelick’s recently acquired school-turned-studio in Syracuse, NY, including Big Time Adolescence, starring Pete Davidson, Jon Cryer, and Sydney Sweeney, which was recently invited to compete in dramatic competition at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.

The company plans to shoot five more indie films in 2019. In addition, Jeremy will direct and produce a slate of three higher budget high school comedy features, also through his production company, American High. The projects will be shot simultaneously in Syracuse, New York, starting in the summer of 2019.

JOHN PSATHAS

John Psathas is an award-winning director and producer based in Chicago. An unwavering fan of 80s and 90s coming-of-age films, BERNADETTE is his first feature. As the founder or Analog Productions, his work has screened internationally and includes commercials, shorts, and feature length films. Between projects, he teaches as an Associate Professor at DePaul University's School of Cinematic Arts.

ELI GONDA - Director, Sid Is Dead

The son of a Venezuelan immigrant and a musical theatre geek, Eli Gonda is a Director and Producer whose career in entertainment began at age five, when he slammed the door in Dinah Manoff’s face in the pilot, She’s with Me. Since then, he’s been telling stories through directing, producing, and developing content from the stage to the screen.

After graduating from Georgetown University with a degree in writing and music, Eli cut his teeth as an Associate and Assistant Director on Broadway, the West End, and in Japan, working extensively with directors Jack O’Brien and David Leveaux.

Eli made his film directorial debut with The Rooster, an award-winning short written by Emmy Award winner Danny Strong, starring Danny Masterson and Carla Gallo. Eli’s first feature, The Outfield, premiered #1 on iTunes in the US, UK, Spain and multiple other territories. It was the marquee title for the launch of Fullscreen’s SVOD service.

His film and TV credits include: Husbands for CW Seed (winner, Best Series, Best Ensemble, IAWTV AWARDS. Nom. Best Director, IAWTV and ISA Awards); producing Nannette Burstein’s documentary American Teen (Sundance Film Festival Award, released by Paramount Vantage), and Danny Strong’s Rebel in the Rye. Eli is a member the Disney | ABC Directing Program and has directed the ABC |Disney Talent Showcase since 2016.

Eli’s stage credits include: Mike Birbiglia’s Sleepwalk With Me and My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend (Producer); Joey McIntyre’s The Kid, by Christine Boylan; The Catholic Girl’s Guide to Losing Your Virginity; Little Miss Fix-It for the Roundabout Theatre Company; Quitters by Lila Feinberg (IAMA Theatre Company); Halley Feiffer’s I Didn’t Want a Mastodon; The FIFA International World Congress: Opening Ceremony (Atlantis, Bahamas), among others others.

A proud member of IAMA Theatre Company, Eli serves as Resident Director. In early 2017, he directed the World Premiere of Dorothy Fortenberry’s Species Native to California, for which he received a Best Director nomination from Broadway World. In 2018, he directed the acclaimed World Premiere production of Christian Durso’s, Redline, which was recently nominated for a 2019 Ovation Award.

Eli is currently in post-production on the feature film, Sid Is Dead, starring Joey Bragg, Genevieve Hanelius, Tyler Alverez, Audrey Whitby, Mary Stuart Masterson, Helen Hong, Jack Griffo, and produced by American High. He is also directing for season seven of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Eli is represented by Jennifer Good at Paradigm Talent Agency.
