Living, Leading, and Facilitating in Grey Zone Change
Overview
Description:
Grey Zone Change is defined as A space between the current state and the emerging future that is undefined and unknowable. The grey zone of change can be defined as the space in-between systems – between the from and to of change. Systems may be worldviews, philosophies, organization transformations, methodologies or social systems. How do we lead and facilitate transformations in this context? This session
provides an overview of the Grey Zone of Change, it's dynamics and what is needed to live, lead and facilitate through it. It is an overview of how Grey Zone Change helps us make sense of leading in the current times of complexity, ambidexterity and transformation as organizations explore new and innovative ways of living and leading in the face of new horizons and complex adaptive challenges.
We are in a world facing numerous systems transitions. From hierarchies to networks and sociocracies. From office-based to a global and mobile workforce. From a human resource era to a co-dependent AI/VR/robotics era. From patriarchy to equality-based systems. We are in the midst of major shifts and transitions, and organizational leaders must also shift their mindsets to move from only leading from traditional management practices to mastering ambidexterity—the ability to hold polarities and lead from both/and.
In this session, participants will engage in an inquiry around questions such as:
1. What is the experience of the grey zone?
2. What is required of organization leaders and facilitators experiencing the grey zone?
3. How do we navigate transformational change while in the grey zone through the subzones of transition, learning and synthesis and /systems development and do so with a focus on possibility and courage?
4. Now what?
Desired Outcomes will be to:
1. Provide an overview of the dynamics of living/leading/facilitating in times of chaos and complexity
2. Use transformative learning methodologies to support leaders to understand how to navigate the grey zone
3. Provoke thoughts for transforming Insights into Action
Who is this session for?
This workshop is targeted at all who experience themselves as navigating the grey zone of change and those who lead and facilitate within it.
