Event description

Description

September 7th
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Saskatoon Farmer’s Market

Our main event for FASD Awareness week is an evening of presentations at the Saskatoon Farmer’s Market. Our very own training co-ordinator, Shana Mohr will discuss the impact of stigma on the lives of people with FASD and how we, as a community, can work to stop discrimination and misconceptions.

The first presentation will be by Niall Schofield. After years of struggling with his disability, Niall has accepted the fact that he lives on the spectrum and is sharing his personal experiences to empower other individuals living with FASD to find hope and strength within their disability.

Anna Niessen will conclude the evening with a presentation about her journey as a birth mother to a daughter who lives with FASD and the importance of understanding, not judging others.
