DOGGIES, FOOD, AND HOME MADE CREATIONS: Join us on June 9th for our first Locals Pop Up Event to showcase homemade products, connect with the community, and to also to support a local agency.

We will have live music, games, and much more planned. We have an awesome food provider: Trolley Crepes will be set up right in front of the Silverthorne Pavilion. Have you seen their amazing grilled cheese sandwiches? These are not your granny’s sandwiches.

For the June 9th Pop Up we will be partnering with the Summit County Animal Summit County Control and Shelter for awareness and fundraising. Before and at the event you can:

  • Participate in the doggie photo contest before the event!
  • Professional doggie photo shoots done on site
  • Adopt a Pet or learn more about adoption (there may even be a few doggies on site)
  • Sign up to volunteer
  • And much more!

Fundraising efforts are to support two causes that are only supported by donations and fundraising efforts.

Medical costs: Pets have a variety of needs once they arrive at the shelter.
These range from shots, medicine for ailments to vet visits and surgery.
Addressing these medical issues assists the shelter in caring for the welfare of
the animal and making them better adoption candidates.

Transfer program: Due to our high adoption numbers, the SCAS is able to assist over crowded shelters in Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Kansas by transferring healthy and behavior appropriate dogs and cats to our shelter. These animals would otherwise face the potential of euthanasia at these shelters. Costs for this program are not covered in our budget, therefore donations are needed to help volunteers transport them to our shelter and then support their medical and general care needs once they arrive. This program not only helps these shelters but meets the adoption needs of our community. We are proud to be part of the effort in 2018 where 40,000 animals were transferred to Colorado in 2018.
